Bishop's Annual Lenten Appeal

Mar 15, 2017

Last week we began the Bishop’s Annual Lenten Appeal. I would like to thank everyone who has already pledged or contributed, as so many of you have faithfully done each year. As a reminder, our goal this year is $105,200. By making the Lenten Appeal a priority we not only continue to support the work of our Diocesan church, but our own parish community benefits as well. If we exceed our goal, any funds over that amount come back to the parish. Additionally, the many works accomplished through the Lenten Appeal, such as the operation of Catholic Charities, Respect Life programs, college campus ministries, and our Diocesan tribunal, help to meet the needs our parish could not provide for on its own.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to make a pledge yet, envelopes can be found at the ends of each pew, at the entrances, or in the parish office. Please remember that this is an annual appeal, and so it is meant to cover a twelve month period. A good way to determine the amount you pledge is to consider how much you are able to give in a week or a month, and then multiply that amount by 52 weeks or 12 months to come up with a figure for the entire year. Of course, no amount is too small and any help you’re able to give in reaching our goal will be greatly appreciated.

On behalf of our Bishop, who makes this appeal to us, “Thank you and may God reward you!”
