Lector and Eucharistic Minister Schedules

Music Ministry
Ambrosian Choir

  • Rehearses Thursday 7:30 - 8:30 p.m.
  • Sings every Sunday for 9:30 a.m. Mass.
Adults and high school students sing music from a varied repertoire of periods and styles. These range from chant to modern works and from easy to difficult pieces. The opportunity to learn to read music is given to any and all choir members who desire to learn. It is a wonderful blessing to minister through music and sing with friends in the Lord!

Cantors

Cantors lead the assembly in singing at Masses where there is no choir. Training is available to anyone interested in becoming a cantor.
Audition required.

Contemporary Ensemble

  • Rehearses Sundays 12:30 - 1:30 on the second Sunday of the month.
  • Sings on third Sunday of Month for 11:30 Mass.
This spirited ensemble of singers and instrumentalists draws on a wide variety of contemporary liturgical music. Children and adults alike are welcome to participate in this ministry.

Instrumentals

Instrumentalists add color and special impact to the music of the Mass. Brass, woodwind, string, and percussion players with some experience (school band or orchestra) are needed to perform solo literature and/or with the choirs.

Requiem Choir

  • Rehearses the first Tuesday of every month at 10am.
  • Sings for Funeral Masses at Saint Rose as needed.
Members are singers who are usually free to sing on weekdays; they are notified of Masses for which they are needed.

Saint Cecilia (Youth) Choir

  • Full Choir rehearses Tuesday 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
  • Small group classes meet weekly as scheduled.
  • Full choir sings first Sunday of month for 9:30 a.m. Mass.
  • Children are given the opportunity to cantor and sing with students they may not have met otherwise.
  • Music ranges from the silly and fun to the more serious and difficult.
Young people in grades 3 - 12 are given comprehensive musical training in the youth Choir which is Kodaly emphasized. Members receive much individual instruction to enable them to rise as musicians with the aim of making them complete musicians. Audition required; parental assistance welcomed.
