Religious Education

Greetings in the name of Christ Our Lord!  My name is Brad Sizemore and I am honored to introduce myself as the new Director of Religious Education for the Saint Rose of Lima Parish family.  I have included this letter with the Religious Education Registration form in order to introduce myself and to share with you my prayer, desire, and hope for the coming Religious Education year.  As a fellow parishioner of St. Rose for the past four years I share in your affection for this church and all her members; and as a father and husband I share in your love of God's great gift to us: our children.

My prayer for this year is that all involved in the Religious Education program and process: students, parents, catechists etc. will grow in wisdom, charity, faith, and holiness.  In this, as in all things, I trust in the grace of God, the intercession of the Immaculate Mother of God and the saints, and in your own prayers.  Effective and life-changing religious education begins and ends with the family.  My desire is that we all contribute according to our vocations, gifts, and abilities to the religious formation of our Catholic youth.  Therefore, I am asking that all parents and guardians take up the blessed burden of learning more about the Faith, catechizing the students at home–in order to make fruitful the lessons learned on Sunday mornings–and growing closer to God through the Liturgy, the Sacraments, and Sacred Scripture; in order that we model for the students an exemplary Christian life.

With this desire in mind I am at your service: to talk, to discuss concerns, and to offer opportunities to grow in the knowledge of our great Faith.  In short: I want to facilitate the success of religious education and holy family life in this parish in any way possible.
Lastly, my hope is that we continue to build on the successes of the past and embrace the challenges and promises of the future, in order to establish in our hearts, our homes, and our parish a healthy and vibrant life in the Spirit of God and a true culture of charity and sanctity.  Now this is eternal life: That they may know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent (John 17:3)
